I just received my 635 this past week. It works just fine and I like it
a lot. I manually configured MEDAInet using the config data from my V551
but ended up having to go online at CINGULAR to OTA the settings to get
that working properly...however, I was able to browse other sites with no
problems. I manually configured my MMS, text messaging and GMAIL and got
it all running with no problems at all.

I have found that the GPRS icon that is always present on my 551
display does not show up at all on the 635 and the EDGE icon only shows
up when the 635 is "online". I don not know if this is normal or not.
Also, the ROAMING icon is on constantly. I've made a couple of calls to
CINGULAR CS about this and they've assured me that I'll not incur any
Roaming charges regardless of this. They've been helpful and courteous
with my questions, even though CINGULAR does not support this phone.

All in all, you should do fine if you get one.

You can turn off the ROAM indicator with a SEEM edit.

Well, I wish I could try that, but the phone/pc connection via cable will
not play nice. I've tried the moto usb drivers and such..but I keep
getting messages telling me that my "usb device has malfunctioned".

Is it the phone, cable, drivers, or operator error?

Thanks for any advice.
