You're probably confusing JavaScript with Java (Java2 Mobile Edition).
They are not the same but couldn't be more different.
Yes, the E1000 can run J2ME programs. You either download it via WAP,
get them via Bluetooth or store them using the USB cable.
If on the other hand you really mean JavaScript, I've never seen a phone
that is capable of running these yet. Not even Symbian.

Opera Mini (free) runs Javascript on many (most?) J2ME (Java) capable phones.

Many thanks to all of you who have tried to help.
My intention is to try reading on my E1000 the Google Maps enriched
with several markers pointing to certain locations of interest.
However, I have not been successful yet.
I have downloaded the Opera Mini. This improved the situation in a way
that I am able to see the Google Map in question split into three
parts, one above the other. However, markers did not appear.
Suggestions and comments will be very appreciated.

Google uses advanced Javascript that is probably beyond any current phone
browser.
