I understand it's called "Transflash". The largest I can find right
now is 512MB. buy.com has the Sandisk 512MB for $49, free shipping.
Will this work in the E815? Are there larger capacity chips available?

Not yet. 1 Gig is comming later this year. Eventually, I think the maximum
will be 4 Gig (due to the limitations of the file system). See http://tinyurl.com/8vtfo for a little bit more info.
Thanks for the info. I now have a new Sandisk 512MB TransFlash in my
E815. Works great!
