Razr vs. V360

Posted: 01-19-2006, 01:21 AM
I cannot decide between the Motorola Razr and the newer V360. I like the
screen size on the Razr, but am afraid of its flimsy reviews on durability
and sound volume. The V360 is more durable but has a small screen. I would
appreciate all comments and input on this. Thanks!

The v3 is neither flimsy nor does it have problems with sound volume.
The sound can be made loud enough to damage the speaker if one wanted to
and after numerous drops and banging around on a construction site the
phone is as solid as ever. So, if you like it better than the v360 you
needn't be concerned with the issues you raise.

MH, Dont worry about the razr. I dropped it on ceramic tile from about
6 feet up because I was trying to hold it too carefully . I am a big
guy and have broken a phone or two in my time from being too aggresive
with them (opening and closing and so forth). I did not have a grip on
it and it fell to the ground, the battery went one way the cover went
the other. Put it back together and it has worked fine. the volume is
too loud, you have to turn it on about level 3 to be comfortable. I
have been very pleased with my razr. Set the camera and video setting
on the highest resolution though it is grainy if you dont. You will
love "V-cast" or what ever T.V. package you carrier provides. The big
screen is just the best for your up to date news and sports. You also
can download clips to the phone for later viewing. Hope I helped.
Big John

This post may be a bit late but....what the heck.

V3 vs V360
I had the V3 and now have a V360. I am a VERY heavy data user, and my
wife is really picky about how things sound.

I found he V3 to be a great phone. It was fast, good looking, it
worked well. The GPRS performance seemed better than my old T610.

But.....Though the volume on the phone was good the person on the other
end (Often the wife) complained about the sound.

The phone felt like it could break but I was never sure. There some
othe posts to this effect but the prevous ones in this thread are to
the contrary so maybe it is fine.

Speaker phone was GREAT.

now the V360.
Smaller screen is...well smaller. I can surf on the V3 with a smaller
font and be fine. On the V360 I was not comfortable with the smallest
font.

The V360 is not as slick or nice, nor does it feel as good in the hand
but it is OK!

THe V360 has Class 10 EDGE! my data performance of FAR superior.
Battery life looks to be about 30% which makes a big diff for me.

V360 sounds better. The phone speaker volume may be a bit quiter than
the V3 but it is still ok but the Mic volume is much better.

Speaker phone is good but not quite as good as the V3.

more memory and transflash are really nice features. V360 serves as a
USB memory key for me.

Generally that is is. I chose the V360 over the V3 even thought it
cost me about $100 more. EDGE and Battery were clinchers.

Note: V3 I THINK had a voice recorder. V360 does not.
