Can 2 phones communicate by BT ?

Posted: 01-03-2006, 06:33 PM
I have a V3 and the girlfriend has a V3x.

I always thought we would be able to get them connected by bluetooth to
exchange ringtones etc, but I can't find how to do it.

I can set them both to 'find me' mode but they don't find each other, and
the phones will only 'search' for a headset.

Can they be set to talk to each other ?

Cheers
Lofty

Set one to "find me" and the other to "Look for Devices" and then you
can pair them and start transferring stuff. Don't worry that the "look
for" is in the handsfree menu.

BruceR you are a star, Thank You.

I have read many of your helpful replies to other people's questions in this
group and have learned a lot from you by doing so.

At first when I kept seeing your name I assumed you were a Moto employee
paid to hang around here and give out help, but as I now understand it you
are just a nice helpful guy without whom many of us stoopid people would be
stuck

Cheers, much appreciated.

Glad to share what I've learned from others and, believe me, I'm still
learning too!

I've had problems pairing 551/551 or 551/v3 with this method(not sure
why) but have had success with copying to the other device.
IOW Menu/My Media/Sounds/select specific ringtone/Menu/Copy/Look for
device. This route has always found nearby devices to pair with.
