V276 connection problem Motorola = Verizon

I have a V276 Motorola phone with verizon service. I have a USB cable and
drives but I cannot connect to my computer (my phone shuts off as soon as it
completes the boot cycle if it is connected to computer) I was told by
verizon that they do not support that phone. Is there any way around this
so i can still hook up my phone to my computer?
