V551 - SIM or Internal Memory for Phonebook?

Posted: 11-30-2005, 03:04 PM
How can you tell where the V551 is storing numbers in the phone book?
The manual states that you can't use the picture ID on incoming calls
if the number is stored on the SIM. How can I make sure these numbers
are stored in internal memory, and not the SIM card?

Address book. highlight a name, view.
xxx-xxx-xxxx
Speed No.147#(P)
is stored in the phone.
Edit
Store To: phone

If you change the "Store To: to SIM, the Speed # will go to something above
1000. Or, if you change the speed number to something above 1000, it will
show that it is stored to the SIM. Below 1000 is the phone.
Below 10 are numbers that you can one-touch-dial by holding the number.

Thanks Clarence. All my numbers are less than 100, and all were
programmed using Mobile Phone Tools, except for the voice mail 0.

I am attempting to have a picture show on the screen when a person
calls in to my phone. I do get the picture when I dial out to that
person.

In MPT, there is an option whether to put new entries to phone or SIM.
The phone is better, as you noticed, because the optional fields aren't
available in the SIM.

I have done special rings, but then when I hear a "strange" ring, I don't
recognize it as my phone, and everybody looks at everybody else, waiting
for some idiot to answer the ringing phone ;-)

I just added a picture to my home number. If I have the flip open, I see
the picture until I answer the call. If I have the flip closed, it answers
when I open the flip, and I never see the picture.

If I had the settings to not answer when I opened the flip, I could
probably see the picture after I opened the flip, but only until I answered
the call. That doesn't seem very useful. And it's a tiny picture.
