v710, 2 HS820 headsets and bluetooth...

Posted: 10-28-2005, 10:45 PM
Hi all,

I hope this is a dumb question. Dam laws now tell me I have to have a
headset on while on the phone while driving. I use my HS820 mainly in the
home office for calls when here but, bringing it back and forth I sometimes
forget it in the car and it's a pain.

Will the v710 be able to "marry" 2 headsets and only use the one that is in
range at the time (and the one that is on) ? As I was going to get another
one but, wanted to check before spending the money on one. The reason, keep
one in the car, one in the office....

Thanks !

I was reading somewhere that someone tried to do the same thing but, the
phone would only find the other one if you got it in "find" mode (sounds
like a pain). Now I am wondering is this true. I just got my 2nd headset,
got a OEM one on ebay for $24.99, $31 after shipping (figured why not, as
the price is right)... I'll have to just try it in a few days (don't really
have the time to play with it).

I wanted to just keep one in the center console of the car, and turn it on
when I need it. Problem is if I bring it to the car, I leave it in there,
then I find myself at 9:30 at night running out the car to get it. I do use
the v710 speaker phone but, I end up holding it so the caller can hear me,
and it's not really handsfree, is it ?

Yes, both HS820's, I tried some other BT headsets, and I love the 820 due to
the size and sound, most of the time I forget I even have it on. It's
happend many times I get asked if it's a phone or people see me and think I
am talking to them....

I will post my results when I get time to play with it (a day off !!!!!). If
anyone can save me the trouble and knows the answer, please post !!

Thanks !
