Motorola MPx220 for T-Mobile

Posted: 09-21-2005, 04:59 PM
I want to buy an unlocked Motorola MPx220 to use with T-Mobile U.S.
prepay. It seems to be the only quad band gsm (want to also use it in
Europe), mp3 playing phone under 4 oz that has contacts that include
address... correct me if I am wrong. The Audiovox SMT5600 and new Rokr
E1 are unfortunately tri band ;(.

So what do I need to know to pick up a new MPx220 from eBay or say
Froogle? Since older ones had problems, is this always fixable by a ROM
update to 1.43, or were there hardware problems?

Thanks, Alan

If an unlocked quad band is what you need, rather than a phone loaded with
Windows, you might want to keep an eye out for a Motorola V400. I use mine
in Asia and Europe. It has a built in organizer that will synch with Outlook
and Notes.
