V262 questions...

Posted: 09-20-2005, 06:23 AM
Looking to help a buddy with his new V262... he's got several people
telling him Telus locks out the ability to load anyhing via sync cable,
which I find hard to believe (they've apparently told him they do this
with all their phones, but it hasn't been the case with my LG).

Does anyone know DEFINITIVELY whether this is the case with the V262,
and if so, anyone know how to hack it to re-enable all capabilities?

Most CDMA carriers lock out this capability for ring tones if they also
sell ring tones for download. This thread may help. You have to
become a member of AllWirelessTalk (it's free to join) to view it
though.

Interesting... I'm on the same provider, but using an LG phone, and I
can upload ringtones, images, etc. using DataPilot. Maybe the LGs don't
have a lockout function? Hmmm, I knew there was a reason I didn't like
newer Motorolas beside their crappy earpieces.
