Connection problem to GPRS from Java apps.

I have some Java Apps on my v3 that interface through the GPRS
connection. When I run them and they try to go get the data they are
looking for, the GPRS logo shows connecting but no data is ever sent or
received. Anybody here know if there's some other setting I need to pay
attention to?
