Mobile Phone Tools question

Posted: 08-29-2005, 07:57 PM
I was looking at purchasing MPT but have a question I was hoping
someone could answer for me before I buy it. Does the software support
two different phones? My wife and I have the same Model phone, v551,
and I was hoping to backup the address book for both phones to the same
computer.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Mobile Phone Tools allows multiple profiles. I have used that for syncing
two phones to the same database.

Did you want to keep two databases, or are you going to have a common sync
pool? I think that might be stored in the profile, but it's not obvious if
it is. When you open the phone book, it opens the PC-side source as the
last one that that was used. You can manually open some other source.

Thanks for the response. I was planning on having two different
databases if possible.

Would you and others post a quick message on their opinion of MPT?
I've read some things about it that make me wonder if it is worth the
money.

Given that it's only 8 bucks on ebay it's hard to go wrong. It's OK to
buy version 3.11 rather than pay more for 3.23. Once you load the
software it will run Live Update and install the latest version (3.25
now). It's a very handy package and let's you back up your phone, sync
to your PC, create ringtones and more. You also need those drivers
installed if you decide to start modding your phone.

Thanks for the response Bruce. I checked ebay and the only sellers I
found were for $10.99 and was for version 3.0. From what I have read
it sounds like you can upgrade any version newer than 2.11 for free. I
asked the question because from this group and the BVRP forums it looks
like some people are having a lot of difficulties with the software.

Of course you only hear from people who have problems so I was trying
to get some feedback before attempting to install this software.
Thanks again.
