V3 Razr: KB used?

Posted: 08-28-2005, 08:59 AM
Is it possible to tell how many KB were used, similar to the call-timer
counters?

I'm mostly interested in how much data has been transferred by the
phone's browser/email/etc, I can track my bluetooth usage.

There's a SEEMS edit that will tell you the amount of kb when you end a
web session. See:
http://www.xlr8.us/hofo/. The edit is at:

offset 4B - bit 2: Byte Usage Summary at End of GPRS Session (xxx bytes transferred) (1 on, 0 off)

I might try that -- Is there any way to automatically keep track of a
summary?

I don't want to have to add up the numbers manually, I'm much too lazy
for that (and I use GPRS a lot, I have AIM open constantly, and use
email a fair amount)

I signed up for a package large enough to cover the amount of data I was
transferring on my old iDEN phone (which did keep track of the KBs
transferred), but since I'm using IMAP rather then HTTP to transfer the
mail it's hard to guesstimate what my KB usage will be.

Worst case, I'll eat a huge KB bill one month and upgrade my package and
call it a learning experience.

Thanks!

Yes just click on the middle button on phone when the icons show open
the one that says recent calls, if it like mine should be top left one
select it then scroll to bottom you will see where it says data
volumes select it there you will see all data info

I'm only seeing "Last Call", "Dialed Calls", "Received Calls", "All
Calls", and "Lifetime", all of which are minutes, none are in KB.

That would seem to be the logical place though, and my years-old
Motorola iDEN phones all showed the KB transferred under the call
timers, so it's not a concept that Motorola is unfamiliar with
