V710 Work in Europe?
Posts: n/a I currently have a Nokia 3589i for my Verizon Wireless service which I am told will not work in Europe. I'm thinking of the Moto V710 (because it has Bluetooth capabilities). ALL domestic Verizon phones use an entirely different signalling technology (CDMA) compared to what is used in Europe (GSM).

Verizon phones use CDMA technology which isn't used in Europe. Europe uses GSM technology. You could use a phone such as the Motorola a840 which looks like the v710 but includes both a CDMA and GSM radio. http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=510 Unfortunately, to make room for the gsm radio, the bluetooth module was omitted.
