iTap

Posted: 05-28-2005, 09:22 PM
Is it me or is iTap weird and crazy?
I am used to T9 being able to recognise a word as you go along... after
three letters it might be on the wrong track, but by the end it gets
there... But iTap seems to think that, if you don't choose an
alternative start within the first three letters, it will carry on with
the first three whatever comes afterwards.
I am used to typing in a word and then looking to see if it is right.
If not then I don't mind scrolling, but the way iTap works on the V300
is just plain dumb
Or am I missing something very impoirtant? Some nifty trick?

I like the way iTap works on my V180. I just spell out the word with the
buttons (one button press per letter) and it tries to guess at the word I'm
spelling and it gives me a list of possible words to choose from at the
bottom of the screen. What else is nice about it is that it learns words
the more you use it.

What else is nice about it is that it learns words
the more you use it. EXACTLY!

BUt the question remains, why does it insist on intervention
after only two or three letters if the first letters are wrong
and not wait till the end? This way you have to expend a lot
of key taps even before the word is finished.

I didn't think it insisted on intervention after a couple of letters, just
keep typing the word and then look at the screen.
