I have the V180 and have stored the address book in the phones memory. Is
there an easy way to move it to the sim card?
Thanks, Steve

I'm not positive about the v180, but on other MOT phones:
Edit address book entry ... one of the options is "Store to", phone/sim

I saw that option but I was hoping for a way to move the address book in one
operation instead of having to do it for all 80+ entries.

I haven't actually tried the last step of this, because I don't want
to screw up my current arrangement, but it looks like this should
speed things up a bit . . . open the Address Book, press the Menu
button (which will take you to the Phonebook Menu), select Copy,
select All to SIM. It looks like you'll then have to delete all the
old ones individually, but that's faster than having to edit each one
individually.

On my V180 I go into phonebook and press the menu button and it gives an
option to 'copy all' to SIM.
Mind you I have been mucking around with SEEM 0032_0001 offset 58 bit6 so
maybe that's how I have it listed.

I think you can because my v188 asks if I want to do 'ALL' and it
will.

Thanks for the replys. I used the copy method as suggested and it worked
fine. It did leave me with double entrys in the address book but that's ok.
I'm having problems with the phone and will have a new one tomorrow. Now all
I have to do is put the sim card in it and go.
Thanks

You wouldn't mind sharing on here what problems you were having with your
V180 would ye?
It would be nice to see what common problems happen with the V180 for future
reference. Some people have complained about the outer LCD panel failing or
ing for no reason after a short amount of time on the V180 as being a
common thing which doesn't sound very good!

I have two V180's which are four months old. When turning on the phone that
I am having problems with, the LCD screen doesn't illuminate. For a couple
of days I found that if I removed the battery and replaced it the phone
would work. A couple of times when I got it going the text on the screen was
jumbled. Yesterday I couldn't get it turned on. I called Cingular and will
have a new phone today. My opinion, the V180 is a good sounding phone with
excellent battery life but it looks and feels flimsy. My previous Motorola
and Nokia phones have lasted me around five years. Looking at what's
available I doubt if many of the phones around today will last that long.
