Here's one that I could not get solved:

When using "shortcuts", the phone goes haywire - creating the first
shortcut, it comes-up in the list as #2. Then when another shortcut is
created, it goes completely inert ... can't exit menu, can't turn it off,
except by taking out the battery. When turned-on, the phone works fine
unless you try to access the shortcut menu ... take out the battery again.

Only cure I found was to do a master reset/clear.

This is not only one phone. Got Cingular to replace it ... exactly same
symptoms. Cingular got really hissy and wanted me to buy another phone or
send it back and be without service until it was returned.

Gave up. It's my wife's phone and she admits to being a "technological
retard" ... does'nt use any of the phone features.

Years ago I bought a Motorola T191. Loved the size of it and the features
and found it much better than the N*kia's around at that time, I thought it
was the biz. Then after a short while it started playing up big time with
jumbled display or only half a display and freezing up. The only way to
rescue it was to remove the battery everytime it did that. Read loads of
reviews saying the T191 suffered from this problem, but Motorola would not
accept the problem - so decided that I would never buy Motorola product ever
again.

What did I do about a few weeks ago, yep you guessed it I bought a Motorola
V180 - I hope this one lasts longer than my old T191 did.

Hi:

I wonder if there are different firmware / software releases with the V180
phones. We have 2 V180 phones since Dec 24. and the software works fine.
No shortcut problems. Did have a hardware problem on one and they promptly
replaced it.

Now, we also have 2 V220's. On one, the LCD inside screen ed/bled. I
used the phone, hung up, placed it on my belt clip, opened it 5 minutes
later and the screen had bled internally. Motorola says not under warranty
even though I did absolutely nothing to the phone. Bought a new screen
online ($23 includes shipping) and will replace the screen soon.

My daughters V220 will not let her change the ringtone (can not get into
menu) so something software wise is screwed up. Will need to do a reset.
BUT, MPT will not show her pictures in the directory so can not save and
therefore she won't let me do the reset! Something about not enough
WhiteSpace....Have to look that up online.

I've had mine about six months and no problems here with the LCD panel. I
tend to keep mine protected in a case, though, when not using it, so that
helps. The shortcut lockup thing I noticed in the beginning when I first
got it, but then I found I didn't use but one shortcut anyway (for alarm),
and I let the v180 have its way and set it at 2. I have had the phone
freeze on me once, but that was after dropping it on the kitchen floor.
Taking the battery out and putting it back in fixed it, so I don't know if
it froze from the impact or if the battery just came loose, but hey - the
LCD didn't break or , so maybe it's the early batches of them that had
that problem.
