Disable voice mail calling for one touch #1

Posted: 04-25-2005, 07:58 PM
I have a RAZR with an address book entry set as "Speed No.1" (stored on
phone), 1-Touch Dial set to use phone entries for dialing and no voice
mail number set, yet I cannot set the phone to dial my entry set to #1
when I press and hold the key -- it always calls my (empty) voice mail
number. This extremely frustrating as, on my V60c, things worked just
fine. Pressing and holding 1 could call the number set to speed no. 1
even though I also had a voice mail number stored (so I could also
select "Call" when I received a voice mail notification and get into my
messages). Why can't I get my V3 to do the same and, if that's
impossible, why does it insist on calling an empty voice mail number
when I have a speed dial number set for #1?

It shouldn't be this hard...

Option to use button no.1 to call voicemail is set in the phones software,
as far as i know this can't be changed directly from handset. You will need
to connect phone to pc and change the relevant bit in the software (easier
than it sounds). Take a look at howardforums and search threads for 'seem
edit'.
