When the phone is being charged, the V551 seems to arbitrarily select a
ringone - different from the one specified in setup.
When off the charger, the correct ringone is used.
Is this normal, and if not, does anyone know of a way to remedy this?
TIA

I use the Motorola stand, into which the regular charger is plugged.
Tried it with my partner's V551 and it exhibits the same symptoms. No
biggie, just have to be aware that other ringtones get used. The reason I
was initially concerned is that I had an MP3 with a bit of "blue" language
on it, and it was the one that the phone arbitrarily selected ... could have
been bad in a sensitive situation :-)

When you put it on the charger it changes it to the "loud" setting I
believe. It's pretty much a standard Moto thing.
