v180 and Phone Tools

Hi,
I transfered some mp3 files to my v180 using Motorola Phone Tools. The
mp3s play when I check on them with myMedia, but when I assign them to
a ring ID they don't work. I used the menu to assign them as ringtones,
but that did not work either.
Is there something I am missing?
