Motorola M3188 trouble : what means "88:88" ?

Posted: 04-20-2005, 08:05 PM
My Motorola Model M3188 mobile phone worked fine (with Mobicard
subscription) for months.
But now I have the following problem : every time I switch on the
mobile, I see "88:88" on the screen so nothing works any more :-(

Before to trash this phone, do you have any idea of what this mean ?

Could 88:88 be the clock? When nothing is displayed on a digital clock it
can look like that, as there's no LED's on. I'm aware on most phones this
wouldn't be appropriate, but some older phones do have a dedicated space
with this simple construct for the time...

If it's buggered contact your supplier or motorola, if it's within warranty.
If not, make a fuss and contact them saying this is your 3rd phone and it's
had yet another fault, though a varying fault, not the same fault.
