Yes, that's exactly what I did except I use T-Mobile. If you're an
experienced ebayer you already know to check the sellers feedback rating
before buying. There are lots of new unlocked v3's there. You'll pay
more for black but I like the silver better myself. If you buy a
foreign version, like from Hong Kong, you typically get more accessories
and built in ringtones and games. Cingular models (what I have) are
pretty basic. That's OK with me though as I rather fill the memory with
ringers and games that I want.

Well, I feel better now that I'm not the only one wanting to do this, plus
it makes me feel a lot better knowing you did it, and it worked without a
hitch. I like the silver one as well, and I agree with you on the ringtones
and games too. I have the software for my V180 phone, and I'm pretty sure it
will work for the RAZR as well. How are you able to transfer the java games
into your phone from your computer? I haven't been able to figure that one
out yet. Also, did you just bid on one on Ebay, or did you get your phone
somewhere else. I was thinking of getting it maybe from somewhere in Asia.
Is it safe and the same thing? I guess it's the same old thing, "Let the
Buyer Beware."

Buying from HK is no problem - just check the FB to see that it's a good
dealer. I bought my v600 that way and was delighted with the service.
The phone arrived in 3 days and worked right out of the box (with my
SIM). The v3 I also bought on ebay from a USA source so got the Cingular
package (unlocked). That worked fine too although the HK version might
have had a few extra goodies. I'm very pleased with it though. It's the
first phone I've had that I really enjoy using (and I've had a cell
phone since 1984).
There are two ways to upload java games tot he v3. USB cable, using
other programs and requiring creation of .jad files (complicated method)
OR use Bluetooth to just drag and drop. See my blogsite for details:
