Hi can anyone explain how to get the first letter of a text message to
display as lower case??? I am using motorola V3 on orange uk

Not sure if its the same as the V600 (which is crap IMO for messaging)
but if you try pressing the # (I think ?) key to the bottom right of the
keypad it will cycle between several input modes - you`ll probably have
to try them all before you get one to do what you want.
I think one method I had to employ to get this to work at one point was
to use a dummy letter at the start, continue the word, but deleting the
dummy letter - the "new" first letter won`t be capitalised then IIRC

On my 551, the 0 toggles between the different input modes (Abc, ABC, abc).
Might be worth a try.

Press 00 (zero-zero) before you start typing. If you look in the upper
left corner of your screen you will see the format change scroll as you
hit 0. You will find this more fully described towards the bottom of
page 36 of your manual (UK version). If you've lost your manual you can
d/l it from motorola.com.
