V551:Stubborn Power Off
Posts: n/a power button down (tried intervals from 2 seconds to as long as 10), it takes many repeated attempts before it initiates shutoff. Why now? You need to power cycle your phone every few days, that is with the phone on, remove the battery for a few seconds, then replace the battery and turn phone on again. It re-boots the phone. I was told by Cingular CS to do this I do this with both my phones and the last call my wife made on hers was to a land line for 76 minutes. My phones are V400s, and very rarely do they drop calls.
