V3 internet connectivity with laptop on Singlepoint Voda

Posted: 12-23-2004, 10:22 AM
Hi everyone,

Tried to get the laptop connected to the internet via the moto V3 using
bluetooth.

It kept on getting to registering computer on network then it would bail.

Even when I tried the dialup for 9.6K it didn't work :-(

Anyone know what settings I am missing?

I'm on Singlepoint Voda and can use GPRS web access on the V3. I used the
following settings:

username: username / also tried mobileweb
password: password / also tried mobileweb

phone number: *99***1#

I'm thinking the problem is with the phone, but i'm not sure. Anyone got
any ideas?

Thanks,

Matt

I used my V3 with O2, and it works very well. I had to phone O2 customer services, and they gave me
the username, password, modem init string and DNS servers. I suggest you phone Voda and ask them for
the DNS servers. I can't give you the modem settings as I have since sold the lappy, and deleted the
account details.

Found this with Google:

create a new connection using the bluetooth dialup modem / phone number "*99***3#" / user = "web"
/password = "web" ; under "Advanced" set the extra dial-string modem commands to
+CGDCONT=3,"IP","internet",,0,0

Remember that these settings are for Vodafone UK & may be different for your provider.
