New and old Motorola chargers / car-kit interfaces.

I bought a Motorola V66i because I used to have a Motorola Timeport, and the
female port looked similar.

But I see now it is not exactly the same - but is look similar.

Is it so similar that I might buy a converter? Or cut the cable on the
car-kit and put a new type plug?
