Hello,

For 1 week i have a new V600...... (i order it 6 weeks ago !!!!!)

I have make several calls past week (about 2 hours), and i have charge
yesterday the phone for the third time,
charging time 4 - 5 hours !!!!!

I don't play de games, but i have make 4 photos with the V600 camera last
week.

The battary "lives" by my use for 60 to 65 hours,
specifications from the V600:
making calls maximum 7,5 hours,
and standby maximum 240 hours.

The store (Vodafone City-Point (NL)) says this is normal !!!

And there is a other problem, in 2 of my phone calls, the phone shut off
(battary full), and i have to restart it !!!

What do you think:

* is this normal ??
* do i have a bad battary ??
* have i a used V600 ??
* ..................... ??
* ..................... ??
* ..................... ??
* ..................... ??

Thanks for your respons.......

Greetings,
and have a nice call...
RONALD.

If you search this newsgroup, you will find some similar complaints, with
responses from satisfied users who don't have these problems, so it could be
a bad phone (or charger?) First, check your settings for battery saving,
Bluetooth (should be off if not in use).
The Motorola manuals have standard disclaimers on batteries, including:
". New batteries or batteries that have been stored for long
periods of time may require a longer charge time."
But mine lasted a week after the first charge.

The manuals also warn that you will use more power if far from a base
station - this would be indicated by a weak signal (1 bar) on the display.

Can you leave the phone on standby (light use only) - the battery should
last a week - if not, take it back.

I had the same sort of problems at the start, but with all lithium ion
batteries, it takes up to and above 10 charges for it to hold a full charge,
also if you are using the phone during a charge this will slow things down,
this includes leaving the phone turned on during a charge, if you want it to
charge faster, turn the phone off, my phone will fully charge in about 45
min to 1 hour, when I have no bars showing, one more thing, ion batteries
don't like to be fully decharged, so try and charge before the phone turnes
itself off.

Hello,

Thanks for the answers, bleutooth is out, but the phone is on, when
charging, and don't have make any phonecalls when the battary whas charging
!!

Today i went back to the store, and now i have a new battary, the men said:
"try this one, if you still have the long charging time, we send the phone
to a repair shop" (that's nice, no phone for about 2-3 weeks).

So now i have to try all again for a week.

Give the new battery time to condition. Li-ion cells take a few charge
cycles to reach full efficiency. If it's no better after a few weeks then
take it back, and also like another poster said disable bluetooth if you
don't use it.

a few things.
Those maximum settings, depends on the system/network.
Systems have settings from DRX2-DRX9 and DTX2-DTX9. The higher the number,
the better your battery life. Ask your network provider what their settings
are. If both are "9", you should have very long battery life, near those
maximums. If both are "2", then your battery life is normal. You will get
about 2 hours talk time and 2-3 days of standby.

And the other poster is correct, if you have five bars of signal strength,
you are closer to the tower and thus you use less power to transmit. If its
1 or 2 bars, then your transmitter will be running at high power more often.

Last but not least, if you ever lose signal where no bars show, then turn
the phone off. When no signal, batteries go down fast because it keeps
searching for a network.

Good luck
