Got this error message for every URL I tried on Mot V300. What does that
mean? I don't have anything stored in the phone yet, so it's hard to believe
it's memory problem.

Are you trying to view WAP sites rather than normal web pages ?
I get that message if I try and access a normal web site instead of a
specific wap site on the phone.
Just a thought.
