????? v600 ?????

Posted: 06-26-2004, 12:25 PM
Hello everybody,

Yesterday i want to buy me a v600, at a Vodafone citypoint (NL).
But the man there said to me: "there is a problem with the software off the
v600, so the v600 is not availeble now, but you can buy a Nokia or Samsung".
Is this "normal" for this cellular phone, or is this a trick from the shop
to sale more Nokia's or Samsungs ???
Can somebody help me out with this, WHAT'S THE PROBLEM WITH THE SOFTWARE OFF
THE V600 ???

Thanks,
Ronald.

I'd love to know the answer. I appear to be the only one who can only use
the sim card as the inbox for sms messages. Motorola helpline says that's
all it can do but everyone seems to be able to use phone memory!!

whether the sms's go to the inbox or main memory is set by the operators s/w
in the phone. That's why some have it on the inbox and others to main
memory.

With respect to s/w problems, that's a common tactic when a store is out of
stock for something. They don't want you to leave empty handed.

My phone (V525) also used the sim card sa the inbox but i changed it
with 2 programs. P2K File Manager and SeemEdit. You can also enable the
SMS Delivery Report if it's disabled.

That's great, nice to finally get an answer, thanks for the advice. Can you
tell me if the 2 bits of software are free to download and whether it's
fairly straight forward to do. I assume I'll need a usb cable. I've got a
bluetooth dongle will the software work with that.
Thanks again.

Don't jump the gun, there are issues w/ the current firmware of the V600,
and supposidly they have a newer release coming available. As for not being
able to buy the phone, I don't know that I would buy into that line.... but
there are issues w/ the software. My phone is partiularly glitchy lately
and has locked up a few times. Yesterday it would not make or receive calls
for about 30 minutes, pulling the battery did nothing to resolve, it would
just hang on making a call and not ring when a my phone was called.

"WHAT'S THE PROBLEM WITH THE SOFTWARE
OF THE V600 "
Depends what flash/flex you have in it. I put a different Flex into mine
and now my voicemail indicator doesn't work and when I get a call, the name
in my contacts is not diplayed, just +XXXXXXXXXX. Other then that the cell
works like a charm, the cure? Program another flex that I found does work
with my vm indicator and contacts

Ok, here's what you have to do. First download the software, P2Kman from
http://www.motclub.com/ and Seem Edit from
http://eldardt.republika.pl/SeemEdit.exe
Next connect your phone to the PC and run P2K, install all the drivers
from the P2K folder.
The find the "Download seem" button. It also has 2 input fields. Enter
0032 in the first field and 0001 in the 2nd field and press download
seem. Now make a backup of the created file (0032_0001.seem) just in
case.
Now open the file in SeemEdit and turn on of off the options you want.
And finally run P2Kman again and find the "Upload seem" button. It also
has 2 input fields. Enter the same values (0032 in first and 0001 in 2nd
field) and press upload seem. Now just restart your phone and that's it.
