It's going to make a big difference if you pick Verizon or ATT.
Remember, pick the network and plan first then the cell phone model.

A friend has the ATT? version. She doesn't like it. The battery
doesn't last long enough. Heck, I couldn't even find the battery! Only
had a few minutes to look and no manual, but that's a bad sign.
Apparently, there seems no ability to use a larger capacity battery.
At least I couldn't find one anywhere.

I'm not a fan of entry level Motorolas and am a bit biased against
Motorola in general.
It's a free or almost free phone.
I'd stay away from most of those, except the Nokia 3585i on Verizon.

IIRC, the analog has been disabled on the Verizon model as
well..another negative.
You could do better by paying a little for a phone. Getting stuck for
a year or two, with a phone, just because it's free, doesn't seem like
a good choice.
In all fairness, there appears to be a number of satisfied users.
