My timeport switches itself off whenever a key is pressed. Is this a
common fault with
these phones, and if so, what is the fix?
Regards

The phone is basically old, unless its a battery issue, and its possible,
not worth putting any money into a repair.
If every key dows it, it is probably just shot. If your looking in the
direction of it being a common p7389 problem, its not. I have one, even
though its the spares, spare, spare, It was good phone in its day, once you
get comfortable with a non-comfortable interface. There is WAY too much
better for cheap on eBay, maybe time to move on.

It is not a battery problem, I have another timeport which is ok with the
battery.
The phone is used as a spare and carried in the car
