E365 - Earpiece problem

Hiya

I have this problem with my E365 whereby I plug in the earpiece
(original) to use while I drive. When I remove the earpiece, the
transmitted sound quality drops dramatically and the voice output
(mine) sounds as if I'm speaking through a hollow tube when I hear
myself. Therefore each time I use the earpiece, I need to reboot the
whole phone (a near 50 seconds wait) just to get the sound quality
back.

Wrote a rather nasty letter to Motorola after being bs-ed around on
their help line for 3 days. No response at all. I wonder if anyone is
facing this same problem
