Is it possible to edit the main screen on the V400 with Cingular carrier?

about one line down from the top of the screen it has the text that
says"Cingular" directly under that is the date, and in the lower right above
message is the clock. The problem is that they take up a good portion of the
available screen making it hard to find graphics that don't end up covered
up with the text. If I put a picture of the grand daughter as wallpaper on
the phone I really don't want Cingular printed across her head.
I don't really need to see Cingular on the screen to remind me who my
carrier is, they do that with a bill every month. I would also think you
should be able to turn the date and time off if you didn't want them on the
screen. So far I haven't found a way to do this.
