Can I use the battery from my old V60 as a backup for my new V600 ? It
appears to have the same voltage. They're physically similar, but he V60
battery has a notch on the outer top edge. I don't know if that's
significant. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Notch makes no difference. The v60 battery is the same (as are the
chargers, cradles and cables) and works fine. It's nice that Mot let us
keep all our accessories and was one reason I stayed with Mot rather
than buy another brand.
