If you search this group with Google you'll find many posts on this subject.
I had the same problem with my 500 and with help from the group I got
bluetooth up and running. Look for posts 3 or 4 weeks ago with my name on
them.

I have this software and have spent 2 days trying to connect the phone via
the cable :-(

If you can get the handset to connect via the cable then it should be just a
matter of then changing the settings to connect via a 1.1 bluetooth
compliant device.

what was the title of the thread?

I too am keen for a resolve as I cannot get my V600 to be identified by the
program.

As I have a V600 coming soon I did a google of this group for 'V600
bluetooth phone tools' and apart from this one there was only one
other thread. Should I expect problems with BT connections with my
PC/PDA.?
Is Moto bluetooth more compliant than Nokia's?

Dissapointingly Dave has gone quiet since his post.

You can connect the V600 via Bluetooth,
I have connecting my V600 to a Palm M505 via Bluetooth,
I used to be able to send sms from the palm, but now cannot, however I can
now send and recieve email with the Palm V600 and bluetooth.
Would love to hear from anyone who can send and recieve sms via a PDA device
using bluetooth.

One of the ways to connect is to connect to the Windows Bluetooth
Modem, rather then to the Bluetooth device itself:

1. What version of mobile PhoneTools are you using?
- As I understand must be 2.x

2. Do you have your phone paired to the PC?

3. Do you have "Bluetooth Modem" installed under your
ControlPanel|Phone&Modem as a part of your bluetooth software
installation?

4. Try Properties|Diagnostic|QueryModem it should come back with a lot
of Phone related technical information.

Now you can try to get your PhoneTools to connect to that modem

Hope this will help,
Alex

baud rate.

I cannot run the program on my windows 98 machine.

Thanks

Here I am! I bet you don't cruise this ng every day when you *don't* have a
problem with your phone.

It took all of 3.3 picoseconds to search this ng for posts from Dave with
mobile phone tools in the subject, and hey presto I found the following

I hope it helps - I have no probs with MPT now

"Mobile Phone Tools works OK for me but it took me a while to get it set up
right using XP

Make sure the bluetooth device drivers are up and running - you'll see the
Bluetooth icon in your system tray bottom right

Make sure to unpair from the software that came with the dongle which you
probably have installed and run already. Close the
software and reboot your phone. Go to settings/connection/blutooth/device
history and delete any entries you find. Not sure if this is necessary but
it seemed to help me.

Make sure you have at least version 2.16 of MPT. (The update is on
motclub.com). Uninstall it and reinstall it.

If you do all that MPT shouldn't go through all that 'looking for modem',
'select comport' crap. It should show a splash screen and then ask you what
phone you have. Choose V500 (afaIk V525 is Voda's V500).
Then you activate 'find me' on the phone, press next and let MPT spot your
phone. Click on the name of your phone when you see it and MPT gives you a
four digit code to puch in when the handset asks for it.

After that the pairing up process should be fine. Once you get the phone and
the computer paired you should find MPT nice and stable.

HTH

Dave I do look at but not post to 19 newsgroups per day, admittedly not all
are mobile related , some are chess and various other interests.

Perhaps i am not using the search correctly, though I did filter down to ACM
and executed a search.

It seems that I cannot rum MPT on my machine as it is windows 98, I am due
to get an updated machine so will run something more modern.

I loaded MPT onto my brother's machine win 2000 and the program worked a
treat V2.0

I am very interested in using a Palm handheld to send recieve sms, though
asking here and several other places it seems i am the only person on the
planet that uses the internet that wishes to use this type of function with
a Motorola mobile phone.

Thanks all the same for finally replying on the thread.
