Yes, the v60s is trimode. I use it in Vermont on Analog.

In fact, the V60s is a V60p minus the PTT -- they have disabled the PTT
capability via firmware. Also, if you remove the battery on a V60s, there
will be a double-layered sticker with the ESN, FCC ID, etc. The under layer
is actually a V60p sticker prior to the phone being flashed to a V60p.

Though that may be interesting, what does it really matter whether it is a
former v60p with the push-to-talk disabled? I find the v60s to be a
reliable, substantial, high quality phone. It is more solid and faster to
use than the the lg40b I traded in for it. The speaker phone and voice
dialing features are great.

I do wonder why they are not continuing to provide the v60s seeing as it is
so popular. It is unlikely that I will be able to find out the real skinny
on that as I don't have any reliable way of finding out.

It matters if VZW is going to stop offering the v60s, and folks may
still want that particular phone.

I postulate two reasons:

1. It's an expensive phone so they lose more money on it than they do on the
LG or other low end phones.
2. Since it isn't color, and doesn't have a camera, it does not encourage
the use of "Get it Now."

You can still buy them, but at full price, from a third party,
http://store.yahoo.com/simplycheap/motov60s.html, can't vouch for this
retailer, one way or the other. Only one review on resellerratings.com, and
it's a bad one. The address appears to be one of those mail box rental
places.

I suspect that the real reason that it's gone is that they simply had to
unload a mass quantity of V60p phones after their PTT service failed to take
off as they planned. This is besides the fact that it's expensive and
doesn't help sell more air time with photos or web browsing.

No point in manufacturing more expensive V60p's just to rebrand as V60s's.
The store near me has removed the V60p PTT display too. Clearly Verizon has
lost interest in promoting PTT, at least with the V60p. People dumb enough
to get PTT from Verizon probably also want a camera phone with a color
screen.

While many people would willingly pay more for a V60s than one of the junky
Verizon phones, the V60s doesn't help increase Verizon's monthly revenue per
user.
