New Cell Phone Adapter for Motorola Series Phones

Posted: 12-05-2003, 02:03 AM
Let me say first that I do not sell this device nor do I have any
interest in it. I am just happy to let you know of its availability.

I am one of the growing percentage of cell phone users who has turned
off my land line phone.

A similar gadget has been available for Nokia phones but in today's
Wall Street Journal, it was advertised for the Motoroal phone series.

It is a gadget which you can connect (has a REN 3.0 whcih means you
can probably hook up 3 or 4 land line phones to it) your land line
phones to your Motorola cell phone when you are in your house, summer
cottage, etc. This means with the cell phone in this device and it is
connected to your land line phones, you can answer cell phone calls;
you can originate cell phone calls; and, do a bunch of cell phone type
functions with the "standard" phones in your house.

I don't know about you but it is "pain" to carry my cell phone with me
when I'm home. Now you can drop it in the unit and use any phone in
your house as I note above.

The unit is called a Cell Socket. It is made by WHP Wireless. There
are two Internet sites where you can get info:

www.cellsocket.com

www.whpwireless.com

The first site is for the Motorola unit while the second site is the
company's home page showing this unit and other products.

I'm picking one up for my Holiday present.

They have a dealer who apparently is also the technical support site.
He is reachable at http://www.eagleid.com/socket/ .

I have no association with him or the company. He seems quite capable
and appears to be legitimate. I have ordered one of the units for my
Motorola T-730c phone.
