CAN I ACTIVATE THIS PHONE
Posted: 11-15-2003, 02:03 AM
I just bought 2 brand new V120E's on Ebay to replace 2 V120C's. The
blue illumination and the lighter color screen background make it much easier
for my wife's and my old tired eyes to see the black writing.
One phone was totally unused & unassembled--when I power it up, the
screen says "needs activation", and that one has 1 minute & 29 seconds on the
lifetime timer. The other one had the battery and battery door already
assembled, and had a phone number already programmed in. I called it and it
rings, so it evidently is still active. However it only has 54 seconds on the
lifetime timer. Evidently someone activated it to test it, and never used it.
You can also see that it is brand new. The serial number and the ESN are very
close to the other one.
Using the VZW website, I know that I will have no problems assigning the
unused one's ESN to one of my phone numbers, (I have already done that before),
but what will happen when I try to assign the already assigned ESN to my other
phone number ??? Will the VZW system reject it being that is already assigned,
or will it change assignments with no problem. I don't want or need any
surprises !!!
Thanks,
RON
