I need help picking a phone.

Posted: 10-26-2003, 01:56 AM
all the searching hardly found any info on how good the phones I can get are in
the area's I need.
I don't have much of a choice using qwest. right now I am using a motorola
v60i it is having garble problems like my last one. it is a known problem.
Ok here is what I need. good reception. my business is in a underground
basement and the signal is weak. also in bigger stores it is weak. so reception
is a big issue. I need a phone that rings loudly and the listening volume is not
quiet. those are my biggest issues.
I am not sure if I use the replacement policy if I will get a v60i again or
the new v60x since they don't seem to carry the v60i. I really don't want
another one. if nothing else the antenna is way too flimsy.
so my choices are

Kyocera KE414

Kyocera 5135
Motorola 120e

Nokia 3586i

No phone will help that. You need more signal. In your office you
might be able to arrange that. In stores you need a carrier that has
a tower closer to the stores.

I'm partially deaf, and my V60P rings loud enough for me to hear from
my pocket in a noisy car. And the listening volume is usually too
loud.

But no phone will give you good reception where there's no signal.

I agree. I can live with what the v60i gives me but I can't go any worse. I had
a few of the cheep nokia's that did far worse.

The 7868 (I think the V60i is CDMA) is slightly better (slightly more
sensitive receiver) than the V60 series. But it's a basic tri-mode,
no games, no downloadable ringtones, phone.
