Skype is on a roll lately, having recently announced new unlimited international calling plans, and now offering a beta mobile client for Java-enabled handsets. The quietly launched application is confirmed to work on both the Nokia N95-3 and the Motorola Z9, offering Skype chatting as well as voice calls.
The voice feature offered in the application is not true VOIP, though, as it uses the cellular voice network to route the calls through local Skype access numbers. However, it is still a very affordable option for calling internationally. With the new plans, for $10/month you could call Europe from the United States on your mobile phone and use only your regular plan minutes.
You can get the new beta application by visiting
