I have tried Total Recall, Live PVR, AVON Mp3 Dictaphone, and eRecorder with my Nokia N80.
Personally, I feel Total Recall offers the best sound quality if you choose WAV format. Also the reception is good. However choosing AMR reduces the quality too far less, but if you’re worried about the memory limit, that is the best option. It beeps in N80 while recording calls.
Live PVR does not beeps while recording calls. But, in the recorded wav/amr file, you won't hear anything at the time of beep, it works like pausing recording while on beep. Since you feel like 'missing' in a conversation.
AVON offers a mp3 player, call recorder and a voice recorder in a single application which is quiet appreciated. It beeps on recording calls and the sound quality in voice recorder need a long way to walk to achieve the desired quality. Though the Mp3 player offers some good interfaces, it takes time for a user to understand it in full.
To conclude, this author personally still waiting for a perfect software that can offer record voice/call in both WAV, Mp3 and AMR with the highest quality. One with no beep or missing while record calls. One with the highest reception to catch even the sound from a distance ( like the zoom lens, there are zoom mikes that can record sound from a distance now a days). A software that can easily send the recorded file to other phones or to a PC.
Please post any commends/ arguments / suggestions if anybody have.
Kindest regards,
Sanju.
