Dr. Mario: on request from DIGINET
Posted: 01-21-2006, 06:15 PM
Dr. Mario
Release Year:1990, Publesher: Nintendo, Players: 1-2
Overview:
Dr. Mario was one of the first games to come out that was in direct competition with Tetris. Dr. Mario offered cool music, graphics, and a different take on how the peices were to be placed. Instead of putting the peices together as to leave as little holes as possible, you had to make a line of four in the same color. It also offered a little more storyline, with Mario saving the world from the evil viruses with different colored vitamins. Dr. Mario is highly addictive and a lot of fun. This was a very popular game for Nintendo. Another big difference between Dr. Mario and Tetris was the ability to play against a friend. While playing against your buddy, you could get a combo and drop random blocks on him/her. That was very frustraing. It made for some great "friendly" competition. Dr. Mario also had a wide range of difficulty because you could set the number of viruses you started out with along with how fast the vitamins would fall. Of course, it also had three music options: Fever, Chill, and off. Dr. Mario was one of the best puzzle games on the NES. If you haven't tried it yet, go for it!
Dr. Mario Directions:
Drop the pills on the same color virus as the pill! When all the virsues have been eliminated, you move on to the next level. Be careful the levels get harder as you go along.
Dr. Mario Controls:
A Button Rotates vitamin right
B Button Rotates vitamin left
Start Button Pauses/Unpauses, starts game
Select Button Moves cursor on title screen
Dr. Mario Hints/Cheats Quick Reset During the game, press: Select, Start, A, B simultaneously to reset the game. Cutscenes
If you beat levels 5,10,15, or 20 on MEDIUM or HIGH speed, you will get a small cutscene. Also level 20 on LOW speed as well.

Contra: on request from DIGINET
Posted: 01-21-2006, 06:35 PM
this game is already included with vnes special edition. this is for those who would like to play it with TigerNES on PC.
Contra
released:1988, publisher: KONAMI, players:1-2
Contra ROM Overview:
In 1957 a large object from outer space crashed into Earth's Amazon basin, near the ruins of a lost Mayan civilization. Scientists worldwide heralded the incident as a trivial cosmic occurrence, and thus the collision was soon forgotten. Now thirty years later, rumors of an evil force have swept into the Pentagon's front office and tales from frightened villagers of a hideous being with an army of alien henchmen are sending chills down the spines of top military brass. Unwilling to upset current political stability, an all-out assault on the region has been overruled and instead, two of America's most cunning, courageous and ruthless soldiers from the Special Forces elite commando squad have been selected to seek out and destroy these alien intruders.
Congratulations, pal, you're one of the chosen. But before you take pride in being the best, be warned. You're about to come face to face against Red Falcon, the cruelest life-form in the galaxy. He arrived on Earth thirty years ago (that is six months time in an alien's life) to establish a foothold from which he will attempt to conquer our world and then use it as a stepping stone toward his ultimate fiendish goal: domination of the universe. Needless to say, playing hero won't be easy. But you have no choice - you must be a hero. Because if you fail, life as we know it will cease to exist, and the vile Red Falcon will rule forever. If you succeed, well...it doesn't matter, because I doubt you will...
(As taken from the NES Contra manual)
Contra, the start of a very long and great series. Contra is the kinda game you can sink your teeth into. Guns, explosions, aliens, and most importantly, lots of killing. That's what a true game should consist of, and that's what Contra is all about. This is a great game for you and a bud, or just save the world by yourself. So have some fun, kill some alien, thanks to Contra.
Contra ROM Directions:
You basically kill people with your gun to get to the end of the level. But it gets better: there are several powerups such as the Flame, Splitshot, and Laser! There are two types of levels: the beloved side-scrolling ones and the 3D corridor levels.

Super Contra
Posted: 01-21-2006, 06:48 PM
like contra this too is included with Vnes.
DIGINET, if u liked Contra then i m sure u would love Super Contra
Super Contra
released:1990, publisher: KONAMI, players:1-2
Contra Super C ROM Overview:
Sipping cold lemonade with a couple of native lovelies, Mad Dog and Scorpion (Guerrilla Warriors Extraordinaire) relax on a Rio beach and boast of how they destroyed the vile alien war monger, Red Falcon. Little do they know that Red Falcon didn't flee with his pointed tail between his legs. Instead, he tactically retreated to round-up ruffians of the universe, friends from all walks of war, to mount a second assault on planet Earth.
One of these new recruits is Jagger Froid, a demented alien from the Black Hole Galaxy, who dishes out punishment with a laser sharp tongue. Red Falcon has also shuttled in The Babalu Bestructoid Mechanism, a giant alien attack tank, which was the primary weapon used to disintegrate the innocent solar system of Tralala.
But the genius behind the Red Falcon's Earth conquering concept is his plan to have thousands of intergalactic warriors seep into the the brains of the U.S. Army. It's a mind contamination trick which has already taken command of U.S. Forces at Fort Fire Storm.
How do we know that all our soldiers have been brain trashed? You can see it in their eyes.
Now, if Mad Dog and Scorpion fail to recuperate from their months on the beach in time to destroy Red Falcon's G.I. fortified Hate Nest, his sinister scheme will permeate the world's mightiest power (nuclear missile silos included). And if that happens, we'll all be pushing up daisies.
(--As taken from the NES Super C Manual)
Super C, the sequel to the very well known NES game Contra, was a decent addition to the series. Played much like its predecessor, this installment of the series had no new weapons or features other than the addition of a few top view levels. So Contra and Super C are almost identical in the realms of gameplay, controls, graphics, and sound. If you have played one of them you pretty much have played both. Not to say Super C was bad, but not a giant leap from the original. With that said, have fun and good luck with Super C.
Contra Super C ROM Directions:
You must keep moving ahead, while you avoid being hit or shot by anything that comes your way. You can eliminate these beings by simply killing them with your gun. During the game, you can shoot at flying objects that will drop a power up. These power ups will improve your weapon, by upgrading them to a better type of gun such as flame throwers, machine guns, lasers guns, even split shot guns! There are two types of levels: Side-scrolling levels, and up and down view levels.
Contra Super C ROM Controls:
A Button Jump
B Button Shoot
Start Button Pause
Select Button Selects 1 or 2 players before starting the game
Contra Super C ROM Hints/Cheats Ten lives
Press Right, Left, Down, Up, A, B at the title screen. Then, press Start for a one player game or Select, Start for a two player game.
