Data call on XDA Compact

system (C# using TAPI). This works well enough on the XDA II and III.
It also installs and runs correctly on the XDA II compact, but the
Magician is not able to connect to my host. I have checked all the
obvious configurations but am stumped! Has any body else seen this -
any ideas what it could be?
