GSM MAP/BER To MAP/XML Conversion

Posted: 04-22-2004, 03:57 PM
GSM Administrators and Engineers...

I am very pleased to announce that the Berasno Service now supports
conversion of BER encoded data to an XML encoding. That is to say
that you may now request a conversion from GSM MAP/BER to MAP/XML. If
the BER data that you give to the Service actually contains GSM MAP
and ITU TCAP information then that information can be used to
construct a MAP- and TCAP-specific XML encoding.

You will want to inspect and experiment with this conversion
functionality regardless of how you use your message data. The ease
with which the XML encoding works with your browser will delight you.
Modern XML-capable browsers color-code and indent the textual
information, and allow interactive navigation of the data hierarchy.

The Berasno Service also supports the ITU TCAP protocol independent of
the GSM MAP protocol, and the IETF SNMP protocol. It can be expanded
to support other protocols that are defined using ASN.1 and encoded
using BER and DER. Please visit the Berasno Service introduction
section of the Holmespun Solutions web site for further information
and examples: http://www.holmespun.biz/berasno/.
