ATTWS to Congular license transfers filed with FCC

ATTWS has filed the applications to transfer their cellular and PCS licenses
to Cingular. You can find the application by going to the FCC WTB's
Universal Licensing System search engine:

To say that the attachments are interesting would only be described as an
understatement.
Cingular claims that they *need* up to 80 MHz of bandwidth to serve their
customers. This represents almost one half (47%) of the available cellular
and PCS bandwidth! Saying that you need 47% of the available bandwidth is
the same thing as saying that there is only room in the market for two
carriers. The coverage maps are among the best I have seen for either
carrier. There are tables showing exactly how much spectrum Cingular will
control, assuming the transfer is approved. In San Francisco, Dallas,
Washington, DC and a few other markets it will be 80 MHz. There has been a
recent flury of license transfers from Telecorp to ATTWS, so many SunComm
licenses are also included.

I have not yet seen where the FCC has requested public comments on this
transfer.
