Any way to boost cell phone signal or more juice to antenna??

Posted: 02-02-2004, 06:46 PM
I have a samsung e105 but the reception has been questionable anywhere
indoors. If i walk behind a wall the odds are high that i will start
to get poor reception. i guess this is why i liked the nokia phones
becuase of their high amounts of radiation!! lol

But is there any way to get more juice to the antenna?

Thanks

Before you blow $20.00 on one of those antenna "boosters" ask around
in the newsgroups about them. Also, I have seen them on Ebay,
Overstock (I think) and a few other auction sites for A LOT less $.
Check out this Ebay:

Many on the radio groups call this booster a joke, but, at <$4 it's
not too bad of one. Considering that the prices range from $.01 to
$20.00, I would be skeptical to say the least.

No need to check them out, they are simply to seperate a fol from his money.
They do not work.

An external antenna connected to the phone with a cable can help.

I get questionable in-house reception with as well using T-Mobile
USA. Have come to the conclusion that the stub antenna phones would do
better...Assiide from that I now have Nokia 3650 and a Plantronics
M-3000. In my kitchen I get one bar. It likes to commonly just die. I
exparimented... As of now its by the front door where there is a small
window... The window in the kitchen is larger but thats the other side
of the house, the side where my basemet room is which gives me the same
1 bar most of the time and common no service. It seems to work fine
from the gsm side at the front door. Voice-activated dialing is still
possable. There is bluetooth static but hopefully people will deal with
it.

A search on the web will turn up a lot pf devices that you attach
inside the battery cover of your phone that 'claim' to boost the
signal. I've never used any and can't say if they work or not. But a
bit of searching may also turn up an answer if they work or not....

You can always invest in one of these:

http://cellantenna.com/repeater/building_repeater.htm

Maybe you can hook it up to a car battery and duct tape the whole
thing onto the back of a bicycle or Segway scooter.

Just a thought.
