Charge voltage for Motorola C350?

I'm looking for the specs for the "charge" connector on my Motorola C350 --
I plan to make my own adapter (around an LM117, for those who care ;-)
The supplied AC adapter says "4.8V 350mA" but I just want to make sure 4.8V
is OK.
Next question: would 5V (fed from a PC's USB port) be OK?
