Re: I need a new phone, which one?

The Sony Ericsson phones are really bad. I have a T200 and it is the worst
phone I've ever had. There is always feedback when someone is calling you.
Very often, you can't call even if there is signal. I'm waiting for the
Siemens S55 to arrive at Fido this summer. The customer rep at Fido said
that when Ericsson phones were made in Europe they were great but now with
Sony it's all made in Asia and quality has gone down. I guess it is similar
to automobiles...

Your phone is defective, get it replaced, certain revisions of the T200
do have a defect that causes the contact that touches the internal antenna
to lift, the fix is to simply bend back the contact. Fido of course won't
tell you this. The feedback you are getting is another known defect that can
sometimes be solved by a firmware update, but often a replacement is needed.

My T200 is great, almost as good reception as my T18z, amazing on
battery life, and is nice and small, well worth the price.

Same here. It seems some people are more unlucky than others. I've had mine
since last september and never had any problems with it.

Still, I'm buying a Nokia 5100 as soon as they are available...
