Introduction:
This guide will allow you to reformat your Series60 Symbian 7 mobile phone. Symbian v6.X mobile phones (such as 3650) will not work with this guide. Reformatting will restore your phone to as it was when it was new. It is NOT a reset. It is a reformat, which means that all system files are deleted from the phone and rewritten. A reset will just restore any settings you have changed back to defaults. This reformat actually recreates the system files. This guide is useful to you if any of the problems listed below are happening to your phone:
•Blank screen and phone unable to boot-up.
•Phone is only able to boot-up to "Nokia" screen (or may flash "Nokia" 4 times)
•Install a program but unable to uninstall it.
•Unable to delete certain files on C drive.
WARNING:
This will ERASE EVERYTHING on your phone
Requirements:
•Series 60 Symbian7 Phone (with full battery)
Method:
1.Make sure you phone is fully charged.
2.Backup your contacts list and personal files to your SIM, MMC or PC.
3.Remove your SIM card and MMC
4.Switch OFF your phone.
5.Press and hold these three keys together
•Green dial key (highest left)
•Star key (*; lowest left)
•Three key (3; upper right)
6.Switch ON your phone. Do not let go of the three keys until you see the "formatting" screen displayed.
7.After a few minutes, the format will be complete. The screen will colour itself black, from left to right. Your phone will now be at its original factory settings.
