Multiple Connections?

Posted: 04-20-2006, 11:51 AM
Are there any phones that support more than one simultaneous bluetooth
connection? I use BT between my laptop and phone for internet when I'm in
the field, and I also use a BT headset. The problem is when one is active,
the other is unusable and cant connect at all. Its kind of a pain to have
to explicitly disconnect my BT headset just to bring up a web page or two.

Is this a limitation of my particular phone (nokia 3650) or is this a
limitation of BT phones in general?

Actually, looking from developers' position, BT phones have not 1 BT socket, but multiple. Though, every symbian application before even trying to establish a connection, tries to find out if any of the sockets is already used. If at least ONE of all the sockets is used, it returns that connection may not be established. If we would remove that check, the application would still force the connection to the same default socket, thus it would fail (nothing would happen). I REALLY think java phones also MAY NOT support multiple BT connections unless they are issued by a remote software (not by the phone).
